Education
The 2402 Foundation specializes in training journalists and media workers to work in dangerous conditions through HEFAT (Hostile Environment and First Aid Training)/Stop The Bleed + Basic Life Support trainings. These are intensive programs that cover tactical medicine, risk assessment, digital security, evacuation and survival in combat conditions.
The educational programs of the 2402 Foundation help journalists and all participants of trainings:
- Save life and health: Since the beginning of the full-scale war, journalists are now increasingly working in dangerous areas. The knowledge of safety and first aid basics can save lives and reduce the risk of serious injury.
- Improve the professional competence: Educational programs help to enhance the skills of journalists, making them better prepared to deal with unpredictable situations and stressful conditions. Training in Risk Assessment and Digital Security is essential for increasing the level of competence, while the ability to use VR technologies for modeling realistic dangerous situations allows training participants to safely practice their skills in a virtual environment.
- Reduce the panic and stress level: The knowledge and skills of first aid helps to remain calm in critical situations, which is key to a quick and effective response.
- Strengthen confidence in the profession: The public has more trust in journalists who are able to act professionally and responsibly in extreme conditions, demonstrating their competence and preparedness.
- Raise awareness of the overall level of safety: Journalists who have received safety training can also spread this knowledge among their colleagues and other people they interact with, which contributes to the overall level of safety in society.
